ok, this question will tell you how handy i really am...we have a ton of mini blinds that i'd like to take down and clean. since the house came with them already installed i have no idea how to take them down. i'm sure it's simple but i need a clue.

Mon, February 7, 2005 - 1:33 PMon the top where those little cappy things are that the big top stick of the mini blind is mounted in.....
there is a little plate on the front that slides in place
it looks like its all one piece but if you get up on the ladder you will see that it is just a little plate that is slid in there.
just slide it towards the center of the blind.
if its stuck gently push down with your thumb on the plate as you slide it to the center. -

Swishing them in the tub after you get them down works well.. but ummmm.. let's just say the voice of experience sez... running them through the dishwasher doesn't work so well! -

Mon, February 7, 2005 - 6:44 PMhot water and a bathub full of that oxy clean stuff works really well to clean the miniblinds.
i used that and just ran the shower over them to rinse them.
use fresh water each time so you dont get filmy grime.
