carving on pebbles?

Anyone know if a Dremel-type tool would work to carve a design into pebbles? Any tips or tricks to do this?
Thanks!

the wet/dry emory tips would probably work. Although to save your fingers, I'd mount the pebble in a vice with a felt or leather piece over the teeth so not to mark the stone.

If it's soft enough rock to carve (vs. shatter), it's soft enough to mark with the vice.
