Greetings, and welcome to Handy Grrls! I thought I would start things off by talking about tools. Here are some of the more nontraditional things that are in my toolbox:
1. A first aid kit... when you're out in the field and have that inevitable "OUCH $%(*$(" moment, it's nice to be able to fix your booboo.
2. Emery boards: great for sanding tiny hard to reach places. Also for the occasional broken nail.
3. Tweezers: good for getting hairs & bristles out of wet paint. Also for slivers.
4. Tiny sponge applicators: you know, like Q-tips, only spongy. Good for tiny dabs of glue, clean-ups, touch-up for painting.
5. Toothpicks: shims for holes that "somehow" got too big, even tinier daps of glue, digging out grime from joins.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Re: What's in your toolbox!
Mon, October 11, 2004 - 8:27 PMMy toolbox is filled with the same things a mans would be. I do have some other "tools" in there, too.
1. handy wipes
2. band-aids
3. duct tape (I can fix almost anything with it)
4. hand lotion
5. hair ties
Those are my basics. -

Re: What's in your toolbox!
Mon, October 11, 2004 - 8:59 PMWell, I have four different ones.
1. Construction fix it tool box has my super sharp knife, iron wool, sponge sanders, files, chalk, rulers, protractors and then standard screw-driver/plier types.
2. I have a Sassaby makeup organizer full of all my sewing stuff
3. I have a Caboodle makeup organizer full of my notions, beading and chain mail making tools
4. And finally my little thrift store suit case full of my knitting and crocheting tools.
Whew! I love my tool boxes.

Mon, October 11, 2004 - 9:23 PMYou make chain mail?! Cool!
Lesseee...my toolbox contains; screwdriver with different heads, light tester, electrical tape (the duct tape is in my car), rubber mallet, wrenches (standard and metric), allen wrenches (also standard and metric), a radiator test kit, safety knife...that's almost it. My "house" toolbox is very similar. I think I even have a wire cutter, for when I need to hotwire the car I was thinking about stealing. (Joke, people) -

Re: What's in your toolbox!
Tue, October 12, 2004 - 1:56 PMlet's see....
Screw gun w/ extra battery, screw drivers, hex wrench set, ratchet set, duct tape, eletrical tape, wire cutter/stripper, hammer, pry bar, 5 pound mallet, silicone sealant (great for gluing stuff to your car or bike), a couple of c-wrenches, needle nose plyers, glitter, gems, pipe cleaners, a few random plastic lizards, scissors, tape measure, work gloves, and lip gloss.
Mom taught me to always have a complete tool box in my house because nothing sucks more than sitting around waiting for some man to do stuff. -
