So I had a party and a few pool tiles popped off. I went to home depot and found grout that will cure underwater! I didn't need to drain the tub but I am glad I lowered it because a few more tiles popped off. I was able to grout and put the tiles back and damn it looks good! And so easy too! I was also able to repair some of the cracks I found and the crappy job they did putting these tiles on with caulking. I have no idea what they were thinking. Oh yeah, sell the house!
So I'll have to take pictures of it or something. But I am way happy. Entry way is next on the list to do. Hopefully I can match the grout color.

Re: Pool Tile
Thu, September 15, 2005 - 12:56 PMWay to go!! I'm a firm believer that most projects can be done by yourself.
Lately my truck has been making a noise and my dad thinks it might be the clutch going out. I'm going to get confirmation and see how much they are going to try and charge me fix this. If it is too much then I'm are going to try and figure out how I can fix it. -

Thu, September 15, 2005 - 1:31 PMnow *that's* the way to be a Handy Grrl! :)) You're braver than I am.... I haven't attempted any major car repairs yet.
One thing the last few months have taught me, though.. that the things we think are going to be "bad" or difficult.. don't live up to what we've built them up to be in our heads...
Let us know how it turns out!

Re: Pool Tile
Tue, February 7, 2006 - 2:42 PMDid you end up doing the clutch yourself?
I found those haynes manuals to be quite helpful in basic stuff. I also found electrical scematics to my old puegot (sp?) and then after taking a good look at the car, realized it was seriously hosed. -

Re: Pool Tile
Wed, February 22, 2006 - 2:04 PMIt ended up that I didn't need to replace my clutch at all. It was just a belt squeling. I felt silly but not as silly as if I had paid the mechanic the $1000+ he was asking to fix my clutch. Plus I learned a lot about what really happens in a clutch replacement. Basicly the transmission needs to be dropped to get to the clutch and that is the real hard part as it is VERY heavy. And the whole job takes a full day I've been told by multiple people. But even though I have a newer vehicle with stupid computer parts and sensors a clutch replacement hasn't changed all that much from the older vehicles. -
